Visual Identity Design for Hotel Concept Rooms
TOKYO CRAFT ROOM
Challenge
The concept rooms at HAMACHO HOTEL are designed as a gallery where guests can stay, and at the same time, serve as the venue for the project led by creative director Teruhiro Yanagihara, which aims to curate the value of craftsmanship and connect it to the future. Items created through collaborations between Japanese artisans and foreign designers, featuring 'handicraft' and 'manufacturing culture' as key themes, become part of the guest rooms and can be used during the stay.
Solution
We were in charge of the design direction for the logotype, selecting a typeface that expresses simplicity, sophistication, and flexibility, centered around key concepts. We attempted to design an identity that can be adapted to a wide range of uses, including printed media, spatial signage, and online media.
