Branding for a Chocolatier Dedicated to Japanese Craftsmanship

Challenge
A chocolate shop was launched on the first floor of the HAMACHO HOTEL, where the chocolatier personally selects cocoa beans at the source and handcrafts each piece in-store based on unique recipes. Design strategies were required to convey the brand concept of artisanal handwork and Japanese essence, along with the vision of delivering enriching moments to every day through chocolate.
Solution
We were in charge of the overall design direction for the brand. Starting with design research and concept development, we collaborated with graphic designers to devise the brand logo, select typography, and propose and supervise the design of various product packages and shop signs. Especially for the package design, we focused on expressing sophistication, authenticity, and Japanese authenticity through initiatives like developing hand-made Japanese traditional paper mixing cacao husks and creating packaging inspired by traditional nested boxes.
